Marcin Chiliński was born in 1990 in Działdów. He began his musical education at the age of 12 at the Arno Kant State Music School in Działdów in the class of Piotr Nowakowski, MA. He continued his education at the Frederic Chopin State Music School of the First and Second Degree in Olsztyn. In 2013, he graduated with honors from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz in the guitar class of Dr. Krzysztof Pełech. In 2015, he completed his master’s degree with a very good grade from the same pedagogue.

In 2019 he completed postgraduate studies of Konzertexamen at Martin-Luther-Universität in Halle (Germany) in the class of Prof. Andrzej Mokry In the course of his musical education he participated in many music competitions in Olsztyn, Chelm, Krynica-Zdrój, Enschede (Netherlands), Nordhorn (Germany) and Brno (Czech Republic), among others. He participated in one of the largest guitar competitions in the world “Guitar Masters” in Wroclaw (2016). He is a laureate of the 1st place of the International Guitar Competition “Guitar on the Borderlands” in Chelm, 3rd place of the CEA National Auditions in Warsaw, 3rd place of the Guitar Competition in Olsztyn, among others.

He has honed his technique in many music courses with professors such as Carlo Marchione, Alina Gruszka, Marcin Dylla, Łukasz Kuropaczewski, Hubert Käppell, Ricardo Gallen, Lorenzo Micheli, Susana Prieto, Gabriel Bianco, Raphaella Smith and Alexis Muzurakis.

His concert activities include solo and chamber music recitals. He has given concerts at many music festivals, including the Opera Forum of the Young, “Music in the Church of the Savior” in Bydgoszcz, the Lutheran Music Meridian, the International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music in Markowice, the “Fountain of Music” Festival in Bydgoszcz, the Guitar Festival at the Castle in Golub-Dobrzyn, the “Night of Museums” at the Museum of Chełmno Land in Chełmno, the Grudziądz Music Festival at St. John’s. Jana in Grudziądz and the “New Music” Festival in Bydgoszcz During his master’s studies, he performed J. Rodrigo’s famous Concierto de Aranjuez accompanied by the Student Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Lukasz Hermanowicz.

In 2013, he began teaching. He is a teacher of the guitar class at the State Music School of the First Degree in Chelmno and at the Music School Complex in Torun. Since 2019, together with Dr. Krzysztof Pełech, he co-teaches a guitar class at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz. He has been repeatedly honored for his performance in teaching with awards from the directors of the ZSM in Toruń and the PSM in Chelmno.

He was the recipient of scholarships from the Head of the Działdów District and the Rector of the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz.
